Over 50 years of faith, friendship, and summer camp for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Founded in 1975, Camp ReCreation is a Christian summer camp for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Camp ReCreation aims to pair young adult counselors with campers who have special needs on a one-to-one basis. As they participate in each day’s activities, this pairing builds bridges of understanding and friendship. Camp ReCreation promotes respect, community involvement, and volunteerism.
This life-changing experience takes place at the Richardton-Taylor Public School in Richardton, North Dakota. Camp activities include, but are not limited to, group activities like crafts, music, games, and faith formation, as well as special events such as bowling, swimming, a dance, carnival, picnics, and live entertainment.
Earn up to $120 per week and have a chance to win daily and weekly giveaways! Eligible volunteers will have a chance to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.
Monetary donations are always welcomed, but simple gifts such as food, sharing your talents for entertainment, or driving bus are a few other ways to contribute.
Camp ReCreation instills endless values in those who participate and volunteer. Values such as respect, compassion, community involvement, and volunteerism are encouraged and fostered, as are the core Christian values of love, sacrifice, and service. Camp touches hearts through service and compassion, as well as through the continuous support of those dedicated to making a difference. Camp is a fun-filled week of learning, loving, and living.
